Answers to the questions we are asked most. If none of them fit, the support page has three ways to reach a person.

How do I run the software for the first time?+
WiporaErase boots from a USB drive rather than being installed. Write the ISO to a USB, boot the target machine from it, connect to the network, and sign in with your portal account.
The machine will not boot from my USB drive+
Almost always a firmware setting or how the USB was written.
Can I run jobs without a network connection?+
Yes. Erasure and diagnostics run offline, and the reports and certificates are saved on the device. They are not sent anywhere on their own — you upload them to your portal yourself once the machine is back on a network.
Which erasure standards are supported?+
NIST SP 800-88r2, IEEE 2883-2022 and legacy DoD 5220.22-M. The standard is selected per run in the Drive Erasure module, and the one used is recorded on the certificate.
How do I buy licences?+
Pricing is prepared for your requirements rather than listed publicly. Send us what you need, we review it and put a quotation in your portal, and you review and pay it there.
I received a payment link by email — is it from you?+
No. We never send payment links by email. Payment is only ever taken inside your account after you sign in. Please report any message claiming otherwise.
My quotation has expired+
Every quotation carries a validity date, after which it can no longer be paid. Ask your account manager and we will issue an updated one.
Why do I need to complete my profile before paying?+
Your country determines the tax applied at checkout, and your company name is the legal entity printed on the bill. Getting either wrong after payment is difficult to correct.
Where are my certificates of erasure?+
Under Reports, alongside diagnostics results. Each certificate is SHA-256 hashed so it can be verified as untampered.
A job completed but its report is missing+
If the machine ran without a network connection, the report is still on the device and has not been sent. Reconnecting does not upload it on its own — open the software on that machine and upload the job yourself. If the device was online throughout and the report is still missing, send us the job reference.
Can machines boot WiporaErase over the network instead of from a USB?+
Yes. One Windows PC on the wired LAN runs a PXE server, a small HTTP server and the Central App, and every other machine boots from it and joins as a Fleet Agent — no USB and no login at each machine.
What is a golden image, and do you supply one?+
A golden image is a snapshot of one perfectly-configured master machine that you deploy onto every other machine. You build it; we do not supply one, and neither does any other erasure vendor.
Does re-imaging erase the machine first?+
No. Re-Imaging never wipes automatically. If the target still holds data, run Drive Erasure first as its own operation, then re-image.
How does each erasure method work?+
Clear overwrites everything that can normally be reached. Purge has the drive erase itself, including areas ordinary writing cannot touch. Zero Pass and the DoD patterns are overwrites provided because customers and contracts ask for them. Every method is verified before a certificate is issued.

Yes. Newly connected drives appear in a waiting area and can be started as a new batch while other batches keep running. Each batch has its own method and its own certificate.
